Simon Pollard
Simon teaches across a range of subjects on the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship and is course leader for the cohorts at the Burnley campus. Simon also courses leads the BA(Hons) Business and Management which is also offered at Burnley Campus
Simon's role ensures he is a key interface between the University and the Lancashire business community. His work with Degree apprentices, many of which are management trainees and more established manager develops both academic competence and real work managerial skills, leaving apprentices well equipped to thrive in the modern business world. In addition he has developed an innovative international business programme aimed at the Gulf market (including Qatar and the UAE) providing both face to face and online teaching to improve managerial ability of junior and middle managers in a range of industries in the region.
Prior to joining UCLan, Simon worked in a range of Middle management roles in the UK Further Education sector, leading teaching and support teams, managing budgets and ensure fulfilling and engaging programmes of study for learners. This has left him very well placed to deliver high quality, applied managerial topics and experiences in his current role.
