Nicky Varley
Nicky teaches across a range of subjects for both the Pre and Post Registration Nursing programmes. With particular expertise in the 'Importance of the early years' and 'children's emergency nursing'. Nicky is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Nicky has a keen interest in blended learning and is a School of Nursing and Midwifery DigiLearn Champion. Nicky's research interests are 'parental presence during CPR in A&E' and 'the use of podcasting in higher education'. Nicky presented at the CPHVA Conference in Manchester 2016
Nicky qualified as a Children's Nurse in 2013, she has worked in health visiting, neonates and A&E before she joined the teaching team here at UCLan. Her teaching journey started when she was appointed as a Nurse Educator and then Lecturer in 2019.
