Karen's teaching includes data science, AI and machine learning across the undergraduate programme for computing and computer science. She also leads on the postgraduate MSc Project module and the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Karen's research interests include Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education and the development of conversational agents for teaching and learning. Her current research investigates the use of such agents in educational settings and their impact on the student experience.
Karen has obtained Senior Fellow of the Advanced HE.
