Darran Chapple
Darran is a Senior Lecturer in Law and teaches on a range of Foundation of Legal Knowledge modules. He is also the Course Leader for LLB Year 1. Darran has over twenty-four years of teaching and management experience in Higher Education. He is a qualified barrister and has experience as an external examiner for regional universities and colleges.
Darran has extensive experience in Higher Education. He was a former Head of School at a College University Centre, where he worked extensively on curriculum design and development. He is a Senior Fellow of Advance HE (formerly Higher Education Academy).
In his current role, he supervises student research projects. Darran has a strong interest in teaching and learning using Virtual Learning Environments such as Blackboard and Moodle in higher education.
Darran's research for his Master’s Degree focussed on Tort Law, Criminal Law and Comparative Law. Prior to his career teaching in Higher Education, Darran was in practice at the Leeds office of national law firm.
