Cheryl Lovell
Cheryl's role as a Social Work Outreach Educator at the University of Central Lancashire focuses on supporting learners to complete their Social Work apprenticeship by providing advice and guidance to both learners and their mentors.
Cheryl's role at the University of Central Lancashire focuses on supporting a group of apprentices through their Social Work qualification; this includes assessing competencies against apprenticeship standards. Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders is a key part of the Outreach Educator role.
Cheryl has over 11 years experience working with children and families within child protection and fostering settings. Cheryl led on a specialist area of parent and child placements within fostering settings and supported development of staff. This particularly focused on balancing risk management against the independence of parents and ensuring that all standards exceeded the expectations of Ofsted. She also managed a team of 10 Social Workers and has extensive experience in completing fostering assessments. Cheryl acted as a Practice Educator for numerous MA and BA students and has lectured at other HE settings prior to joining the University of Central Lancashire.
