Dr John Pinder currently works on fully funded ERDF projects such as DigitMe2 in addition developing academic and commercial partnerships such as TMI and IN4.0. As part of UCLan’s commercial offering, John may also work on other Industry 4.0 type projects from training to consultancy to development.

Data Scientist Dr John Pinder has over a decade of experience applying technology and computer engineering to solve practical problems and generate value for customers. Previously, Dr Pinder worked for a Robotics & Automation control software company, helping medium-to-large enterprises across industrial sectors develop and commission bespoke automated machinery. As a graduate student, he applied artificial intelligence to aerial drones and embedded systems to allow them to learn how to self-optimise for multiple objectives. Other present roles include, teaching, applied research, project management, software development & IDT (Industrial Digitalisation Technologies) consultancy.
