UCLan included in Times Higher Education World University Rankings for second consecutive year

The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) has cemented its reputation on the global scale after it was included in The Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings for the second consecutive year.

UCLan retained its position in the 601 to 800 category of the table, which is considered to be one of the world’s most prestigious and high profile university rankings.

Various aspects of the University were assessed for the 2016-17 table and UCLan scored particularly well in the international outlook and citation (research influence) categories. It is the second time in a row that the University has scored highly for the number of international students, staff and academic papers that have been co-authored with international partners.

"This is very encouraging news for everybody at the start of the new academic term and is the proof that the work we are doing is boosting our international profile.”"

Vice-Chancellor Professor Mike Thomas said: “It is great news that we have been included in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for the second consecutive year.

“It is very encouraging news for everybody at the start of the new academic term and is the proof that the work we are doing in teaching, research and knowledge transfer is boosting our international profile.”

This prestigious ranking acts as a resource for students, parents, academics, industry leaders and governments at home and abroad.

This year’s success in the THE World University Rankings follows on from recent excellent success in the QS World Rankings and the Centre for World University Rankings when it was estimated to be in the top 3.7% of all worldwide universities.
