Advanced Composites Workshop

These facilities gives students experience of skills relevant to the mechanical and aerospace industry.

This workshop houses a large composites oven for curing pre-preg parts and materials, as well as a walk-in freezer for storage of these materials. The oven is suitable for composite part curing at up to 200°C and includes a built in vacuum system for curing parts under pressure, it also includes the capacity to log various temperature and pressure parameters within the oven chamber and produce a graph to allow for further analysis of the curing process.
