Student success at the YCN New Now student awards

Creative Advertising and Graphic Design

The School of Art, Design and Fashion at UCLan celebrated great student success for Creative Advertising and Graphic Design students who attended the You Can Now (YCN) New Now student awards.

From Creative Advertising, third year Alex Meese was commended for his work on the Art Fund brief; second years Emma Pye and Nathan Ward were winners for the Gumtree brief and third year Jiahui Guo was commended for his work on the KFC brief.

Year three Graphic Design students Gabe Aplando and Jay Austin were also commended for their work on the KFC brief.

The event took place on September 9 at London’s historic Toynbee Hall. Our students were up against competition from over 250 universities, colleges and art and design schools internationally.

Only the most outstanding entries were commended and exhibited at the celebratory event. All commended entrants receive through further industry support, training and mentoring designed to kickstart their creative careers.

The purpose of the YCN New Now student awards is to connect rising talent with people and organisations who can apply, develop and realise their future work ambitions. All entrants commended are in effect winners for their brief category.
