The University offers an Airport Transfer Service for all new overseas UCLan students, arriving into Manchester Airport.
The transfer service will operate from Wednesday 15 January 2025 until Saturday 18 January 2025.
Once we have received and processed your application, you'll receive an ‘Airport Transfer Booking Confirmation’ email with further information at least 2 days before your arrival.
If we are unable to offer a coach transfer due to low levels of interest, we will aim to provide a transfer service to campus by alternative transportation, which will also be confirmed to you by email.
The transfer service may not be available if your flight gets delayed or you arrive outside of the transfer times.
The transfer service is free of charge for students studying at our Preston, Burnley and Westlakes campuses. The service is only available to new overseas students starting their studies in January 2025. If any family members have travelled to the UK with you they will not be able to use the transfer service and will have to make their own travel arrangements.
Please be aware if you book the airport transfer service you are restricted to a maximum of 2 large suitcases and 1 piece of hand luggage. You may be asked to make alternative travel arrangements at your own cost if you exceed this luggage allowance restriction. There will be suitcase trolleys at the airport but on arrival at campus you will need to be able to carry and lift your own individual luggage to your accommodation.
Students who are studying at our Westlakes campus will be offered an additional coach transfer service from Preston campus to Westlakes. This may include an overnight stay at Preston campus student halls of residence depending on your time of arrival at Preston. All details will be confirmed by email close to your arrival date.

- If a transfer is provided, you will receive a booking confirmation email with further information.
- Our Airport Transfer Service is free of charge but only available to new overseas students. If any family members have travelled to the UK with you, they will need to make their own way to campus by public transport.
- If you book the airport transfer service you are restricted to a maximum of 2 large suitcases and 1 hand luggage. You will be asked to make your own alternative travel arrangements at your own cost if you exceed the coach luggage allowance restriction. There will be suitcase trolleys at the airport, but on arrival at campus you will need to be able to carry and lift your own individual luggage.
