Careers offer regular workshops and one-to-one appointments to help you:

You can also access a wealth of online resources. These include aptitude tests and complete CV solutions to the very latest vacancies at your fingertips.

There are daily Careers Drop-ins with the Careers Team at the Preston Campus, inside the Student Centre.

When you’re at University you can use our CareerEdge portal to search for local part-time job vacancies. You'll also find lots of useful content including e-learning modules and industry reports.
You can also download Handshake, the student and employer app. Download it from Google Play or the Apple Store. Here you'll see opportunities advertised by local companies who are interested in recruiting UCLan students.

Another great way of earning some extra cash is to become one of our Student Ambassadors. It’s a fantastic way to meet other students and get involved in University life. You'll also help prospective students and their families find out more about what we offer.

Student Ambassadors play a vital role at University events. These include our

  • Open Days
  • Offer Holder Days
  • Graduation ceremoniesOur annual Lancashire Science Festival.

They also host online live chats and other virtual events for prospective students who can’t visit our campus in person.

Training is provided and the roles are flexible and agreed on an ad-hoc basis. This means you’ll be able to fit your Student Ambassador responsibilities around your studies and personal life.
